The 1960's - The Pigman

This website gives some great information about the 1960's. It will help you to grasp the time period and its influence on our world today.

You will have a chance during class to explore these topics:
1. art & architecture
2. books & literature
3. education
4. fads & fashion
5. historic events & technology
6. music
7. sports
8. theater, film, radio & television

Directions:
-Preview any of the above topics in which you have an interest and select one to explore.

-Sign in to our classroom blog to post your topic in "comments." Once this is done, click on "comments."

-Review all the comments that have been made to make sure that no one else has selected your topic. If someone else has chosen that topic, choose another one. List the general topic/specific topic.

-Check out the links within your topic. As you read, think about the impact that "he/she/it" has had on our world today. Consider how our world today has been influenced by what happened during the 1960's.

Assignment: You will make a glog by using TEXT, PICTURES, SOUND, and VIDEO to show how the 1960's has influenced/impacted our world in 2012.

-How do I make a glog?  Well, first you'll need to create a globster account. To get step-by-step directions and to see a couple examples of completed glogs, check out this link.

-As you research, download pictures, sound, and video that show "then" and "now." Write text to explain how the "then" influenced the "now". Oh, and by the way, don't forget that since you're downloading pictures, video and sounds, you'l need to create a Works Cited page (using MLA).

Do NOT simply compare the fashion of the 1960's to the fashion of 2012. Instead, show how (in what way/s) the fashion trends of the 1960's influenced the fashion trends of 2012.

Create a Works Cited page

Use KnightCite, an online citation generator service provided by Calvin College, to create a Works Cited page.

The online citation service simplifies the task of compiling an accurate bibliography using MLA Citation Style by formatting the given data on a source into a reliable citation.
